Mr. John Konwerski

Mr. John Konwerski
September 29, 2011

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

Greetings from St. Anthony School.
Just an update on our Music Curriculum...This year, through the generosity of Father Al, and St. Anthony Parish and School, we have introduced "CHILD FRIENDLY" handbells to our music classes. All students, Pre-K through 8, are enjoying using the instruments. It truly assists stuents in reading a musical staff, recognizing notes, and teaching tempo, rhythm, etc. We are truly fortunate. The handbells will be introduced at our CHRISTMAS PAGEANT on Thursday, December 22nd.

In the meantime, our middle school is concentrating on a unit of AMERICAN FOLK MUSIC.
Grade 3 has been introduced to the rudiments of the recorder. All of us are learning new liturgical music for church. The children truly love to sing. So we're off to a great start to the school year.

Our parish YOUTH CHOIR now numbers 28 students, including parish children from our CCD program. THERE'S NO ROOM in the choir loft!!!
Parent assistance is always welcome.

Lastly, a request - WISH LIST - In trying to expose the students to all types of genres of music, any old CD's, DVD's, Videos are welcome.
Thank you.

God's peace and blessings,
With gratitude,
Mr. K.
